A1GP puts WS on global account

Weber Shandwick is running a multi-country campaign to promote A1GP - billed as 'the World Cup of Motor Sports' - through its 2006-2007 season.

The 12-race competition features teams from 25 countries. The second A1GP series kicked off last Sunday in Holland.

WS is advising on media relations, ‘media partnerships' and events in countries including China, Malaysia, the US and Czech Republic.

The account is believed to be worth around £500,000, with WS aiming to ‘build A1GP's audience from traditional motorsports into consumer and lifestyle media'.

It is running the account from its London office.
