Campaign to stage its first conference

Some of the most important issues facing the marketing communications industry will be debated during the inaugural Campaign Conference, which is to be held in Dubai on 27 and 28 November.

International and regional leaders in marketing, media and public relations will address delegates at the two-day event, which is being run in conjunction with the Media & Marketing Show at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

A series of interactive panel discussions will debate topics such as how media agencies and marketers can build effective working relationships; how PR can command a greater share of marketing spend; the future of free- to-air TV in the region; how to get effective consumer insights; and the potential of online advertising.

Topping the bill of speakers is Max Clifford, the UK's most well-known and influential PR practitioner and publicist.

Clifford, who has been working in PR for more than 40 years, has made his name looking after the interests of a variety of clients, including a host of celebrities such as Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando, Jimi Hendrix and Muhammad Ali.

Clifford started his career promoting the Beatles at EMI records in London.

Also speaking at the conference is Joseph Ghossoub, chairman and world president of the International Advertising Association and CEO at The Holding Group; Antoine Choueiri, chairman of The Choueiri Group - whose company is the dominate force in television advertising sales across the region; Hala Badri, vice president of corporate communications at the UAE's newest telecom operator Du; and Jan Zijderveld, chairman of Unilever Middle East and the GCC Advertisers' Association.
