eMusic serves up (most) Euro beers

While McLeish was busy planning his cycling tour, Diary's focus last week was on a European-themed adventure closer to home.

Specifically, our eyes were widening at the promise of 25 different beers from the 25 EU member states to be served up at last week's European launch event for iTunes-challenger eMusic.

Well into the evening Diary bumped into Golin Harris MD Jonathan Hughes, who was working on the central London event, merrily dancing away.

The mathematically minded Hughes revealed to Diary that despite a big chalk-board's claims, there were only 24 EU beers present - a Hungarian tipple had proved a little hard to source. (Hughes was proved correct that us sozzled hacks would not notice). We duly called McLeish to ask for his advice on Hungarian beverages.

Our man in the saddle responds: 'We tried several brands while over there, but I recommend Soproni beer, which is locally produced.'

Golin Harris, take note.
