Discount shop QS plans retail battle

Bargain high-street retailer Quality Seconds is aiming for a Primark-style surge in popularity after handing a PR contract to The Ideas Network.

The agency is to promote the brand - which has 207 stores in England, Scotland and Wales - as both a value-for-money retailer and a fashion emporium, according to QS marketing controller David Rich.

The shop's main competitors other than Primark are fellow discount retailers Bon Marché and Peacocks.

Agencies Brazen and Resonate also pitched for the QS account, which has a focus on targeting regional publications.
