ALG rebrands as London Councils

The Association of London Government is to adopt a new name and corporate identity to better reflect its membership.

From 1 October, the ALG will become London Councils in a bid to avoid confusion with the Greater London
Authority (GLA) and the Local Government Association (LGA).

The move follows political changes at the body following last May's local elections, said head of comms Ceri Edwards.

‘Before the elections we were Labour chaired and run but now we are chaired by the Conservatives and run by a cross-party executive. This was a good time to change our name,' he said.
