Westminster bids to keep Richmond

The Westminster Council PR ‘hit squad' that took charge of Richmond-upon-Thames Borough Council's comms function in 2003 has repitched for a new contract.

Westminster was called in to overhaul Richmond's communications after a performance review (PRWeek, 25 April 2003).

Richmond head of communications Cormac Smith, who is officially on a posting from Westminster, said the submissions deadline for the pitch - which was competitive - was the end of last month.

‘We feel we have done an excellent job since 2003,' said Smith, adding that Westminster was keen to win the contract with Richmond for the next three years.
