Let's meet at - Urban Golf

Reviewed by David Hargreaves, MD, Bite UK

Sick of another lunch meeting? (It's a tough life - Ed.) Want something else to talk about? Don't have time for golf with a client? Then try Urban Golf. Readers of Golf Punk will know the score - golf in a modern setting, as close to proper golf as you can get in the West End of London.

Urban Golf is the perfect respite from the London restaurant circuit. Once you have made your way down the rather stark entrance and stairs, you will find a venue containing state-of-the-art simulators, the latest Ping equipment, a practice putting green and the latest teaching aids.

But this is not just a place for golfing addicts. Anyone can have a go over a few drinks and a bite to eat. Each bay can be booked by the half hour for up to four people at a time. Ideally you need to book at least an hour to get the full enjoyment and use of the facilities.

The food is fairly simple but you can choose from a menu of sushi, salads, wraps and other finger-food, as well as a range of drinks. You also get to choose which golf course to play, the weather conditions and even the format of golf.

With the Ryder Cup soon upon us, why not swap the usual lunch meeting for an hour or so down at Urban Golf, and mimic the real action of the K Club.

One last tip: don't forget to lose.
