Clarke stirs up Labour infighting For a party that virtually perfected the art of keeping 'on message' a decade ago, the internecine sniping that has broken out among senior Labour Party figures over the past week has been shocking to see. Former home secretary Charles Clarke has been stirring it up more than most. The Daily Mail accused him of being 'deliberately provocative', while The Daily Telegraph called him 'belligerence personified'.
