Guardian poaches Mirror's Wade

The Guardian Media Group (GMG) has bolstered its communications team following the promotion of Carolyn McCall to the role of group CEO.

The firm has poached Trinity Mirror Group corporate comms manager Chris Wade for the newly created role of head of comms.

Reporting to both director of corporate affairs Shaun Williams and McCall, Wade's primary role will be to advise McCall, who was promoted earlier this summer, replacing the retiring Sir Bob Phillis.

Wade will also be responsible for creating a group internal comms strategy.

Wade has worked with Trinity Mirror for six years. He reports to director of corporate comms Nick Fullagar. He said it was ‘too early to say' if Wade will be replaced or if the role will be reviewed.
