The post has been created following a restructure of the council's corporate communications team, as recommended in an audit by local government specialist DTW. The postholder will report to head of service Jan Souness.
As part of the restructure, head of communications Bob Williams remains within the existing corporate team but will take up a new brief leading marketing activity. It will include the development of council branding and
campaigns, encouraging a greater understanding and take-up of council services.
Souness said: ‘The increasingly complex communications challenges we are facing demand a more sophisticated, strategic approach. We are looking to refocus the way we tell the Warrington story.'
