Davies joins next week as corporate board director, reporting to agency MD Andrew Baiden.
He spent five years at Consolidated, latterly as head of its ten-strong business comms team, where he worked for clients such as the Department for Education and Skills. He also had a significant role in respect of new-business generation.
Around six Red staff will work for Red Inc. The agency is looking to recruit two further account directors for the division.
Davies described Red Inc as ‘an additional offer for both current and new Red clients'. Existing Red corporate clients include IT services and business consultancy Capgemini.
This is the second new practice unveiled by Red in the past month. In August the consultancy struck a deal with blogging outfit Shiny Media to create new-media consultancy Shiny Red (PRWeek, 4 August). Consolidated managing director Sarah Robinson - to whom Davies reported - said he would not be replaced.
Instead, board director Nick Clark will take over the running of the business comms team.
Before Consolidated, Davies spent around two years each at agencies Financial Dynamics, Lexis PR and Edelman.
