The 32-strong health agency cited ongoing organic growth and new contracts with Merck Pharmaceuticals (international corporate work reporting to staff in Lyon) and Alliance Pharmaceuticals (UK corporate work) as the trigger for the creation of the position.
In her new role, which sees her report to chairman and MD Martin Ellis, Hayburn will handle matters such as staff recruitment and development and have greater responsibility for agency finance issues. She will also oversee co-operation between the agency and its design, branding and ads consultancy Medibrand.
Hayburn joined Medicom in 2002 as account director. She previously worked for MediTech Media and Educational Communications.
