Internet/Web TV refers to internet sites that typically offer text, video and audio. IPTV, also called telcoTV, generally describes TV via broadband to traditional TV sets as an emerging alternative to terrestrial, cable and satellite.
The IP element makes it easier to have interactive TV programmes and adverts. This can be anything from running different ads for different viewers to a choice of different programme endings.
Internet TV and IPTV are likely to overlap in the future. Add in mobile TV, and it is clear that there is a potent mix of opportunities for PR firms.
