US shoe firm uses Freewheelin' in UK

Vintage sports footwear company Spalding has enlisted Freewheelin' Media for the launch of its 2007 spring/summer collection as it prepares to double its distribution in the UK.

The US firm began trading in 1904, and PR will centre on the brand's longevity. Freewheelin' will also capitalise on Spalding's relationship with the Nat­ional Basketball Association.

Freewheelin' was hired by Italian firm DC Company, holder of the licence for Spalding in the UK, after a non-competitive pitch. The incumbent was Clownfish Marketing.
