Previously handled in-house, the agency will take on all media relations for the sci-fi classic, including personal PR for star David Tennant and the Doctor's new companion, played by Freema Agyeman.
The third series since its return to screens last year is currently being filmed in Wales. As well as on-set press, Taylor Herring will handle publicity for a Christmas episode, guest starring comedienne Catherine Tate as a bride who finds her wedding day interrupted by an alien plot to destroy the Earth.
Newcomer Agyeman plays Martha Jones, who has been written into the series as a replacement for Billie Piper's Rose Tyler character.
Viewing figures for the last series peaked at 8.9 million.
Taylor Herring reports to BBC1 head of PR Jane Fletcher. The win is the first for a newly created film and drama division at Taylor Herring, led by senior ITV drama publicist Dean Smith. ‘We are planning to target the film sector next year,' said agency co-founder James Herring.
Smith previously worked with Tennant when he starred in ITV drama Secret Smile. Before ITV, Smith held a senior drama publicist role with the BBC. He also previously spent two years as head of press for IPC Magazines.
Premier PR is to handle the launch of two BBC dramas: Shoot the Messenger, which airs on BBC2 on 30 August, and the second series of New Street Law, which stars John Hannah.
