Pfizer UK comms in temporary rejig

Pfizer has split overall responsibility for its UK comms between various members of staff after corporate and public affairs director Colette Goldrick's departure on maternity leave.

The company, the world's largest drugmaker, said its ‘leadership team' was now running its UK comms department on an interim basis in Goldrick's absence.

Senior figures in the company's UK comms team include head of government affairs Owen Smith, head of comms Andrew Topen and corporate comms manager Sally Goodenough.

Goldrick was promoted to Pfizer's top UK role just over two years ago (PRWeek, 28 May 2004).

The company last month named Jeffrey Kindler, formerly its general counsel, as CEO. It is fighting fierce competition to its biggest-selling product, Lipitor, and faces patent expiries on various big drugs.
