DWP issues guide on disabled pics

The Department for Work and Pensions is urging comms professionals across all sectors to use images of disabled people in campaign material.

The DWP  is promoting its new website, which offers guidance on the subject.

‘Nearly one in five of the population is disabled, but it remains extremely rare to see disabled people represented in the media, so it is necessary to redress the balance,' said a spokeswoman.

The site offers a media gallery, ‘how to' guides and templates, research material, case studies and tips on effectively applying disability messages.
