We've seen some ambitious press releases over the years, but none more so than one this week from business events outfit Terrapinn.

Introducing its Leisure Invest Middle East conference, the company's spiel boasted that: 'The Middle East has the potential to become the leading tourism destination of the 21st century.'

Given that one national journalist called Diary this Tuesday to describe the message as 'the worst-timed press release ever', in view of the current slaughter in that region of the globe, has take-up been good, we wondered.

'We've had a good response,' claims Terrapin spokeswoman Ciara Mallon.
