Clarke exits Ogilvy corporate job

Ogilvy PR Worldwide UK corporate and technology MD Stephen Clarke has left the agency after his position was axed amid an ongoing restructure.

EMEA chief executive Martin Liptrot said: ‘The UK and corporate technology MD role effectively no longer exists.

Stephen and I talked about the new challenges within the firm, but in the end he decided to leave.'

Liptrot said Ogilvy was ‘weeks away' from unveiling a newly structured corporate and tech practice. Clarke left Ogilvy late last month after two years and is not subject to a period of ‘gardening leave', Liptrot added.

Clarke was unavailable for comment but is not believed to have a new job lined up.

No other positions have been cut and the agency is not expecting any other departures as a result of the restructure, said Liptrot.

Just two months ago, associate director Justin Hayward left Ogilvy's corporate and tech practice to become Manning Selvage & Lee London's head of technology and telecoms (PRWeek, 16 June).
