PR revenues continue to drive Omnicom growth

NEW YORK: Revenues from PR continue to drive Omnicom's growth, with the holding firm reporting that its PR agencies generated £153.87m during Q2 - a near nine per cent rise from the same quarter in 2005.

Omnicom's forecast-busting results were favourable across the board as the group posted total revenues of £1.5bn, up eight per cent on last year.

Omnicom EV-P and CFO Randall Weisenburger admitted growth within the company's marketing services was being driven by PR, which represented 10.2 per cent of Omnicom's overall second quarter revenue - growth of 8.9 per cent. PR has grown by 5.2 per cent so far this year.

‘In PR it seems to be solid growth across the board,' said Omnicom president John Wren, during a teleconference. ‘We've not seen a slowdown as of the end of July.'

Omnicom has posted consistently healthy organic revenue growth, often outpacing rivals such as WPP and Publicis.

Neither has yet reported its most recent quarterly results.
