Vodafone boosts recycling drive

The Forster Company is to run a campaign for Vodafone to encourage people to hand in old mobile phones.

The campaign is part of Vodafone's current recycling drive to send phones to developing countries and raise money for the National Autistic Society.

Forster Company MD Amanda Powell-Smith said the media relations-based approach would use national and consumer press to target people in the 30-plus age bracket.

‘Not many people realise that old phones can be reused by people in other countries, so we will be encouraging people to drop off unwanted models in Vodafone stores,' she said.

Developing countries often lack an efficient landline infrastructure, and used mobile phones are vital for helping individuals and businesses communicate.
