WS tempts Ketchum's Morgan to Hong Kong

HONG KONG/LONDON: Weber Shandwick has recruited Ketchum London healthcare associate director Stephen Morgan to its top healthcare job in Hong Kong.

Morgan has joined as director, Asia-Pacific healthcare, advising pan-regional clients including GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca and Pfizer.

At Ketchum, where he worked for more than five years, Morgan managed the May UK launch of Pfizer's opthalmology product, Macugen. He also advised clients including Roche (international).

Previously, he worked at Edelman. At WS, he reports to Hong Kong-based MD Jill Mortensen.

He said: "This is a great opportunity to head a group. Asia-Pacific is a growing region with all to play for." A recent exit from WS Hong Kong is director Amanda Sefton, now, by coincidence, working at Ketchum London (PRWeek, 9 June).

WS has 35 Hong Kong staff, eight of whom work in healthcare: these include account director Claire Martin, who has worked in London for Chandler Chicco Agency and Porter Novelli.
