Dell criticised for US corporate blog

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: A corporate blog launched by Dell has got off to a turbulent start, attracting criticism for being overly promotional.

The blog, One2One,  launched last week and is being written by staff. It is positioned as a place to have an ‘open dialogue' about Dell and is managed by Lionel Menchaca, a member of the corporate media team.

Initial feedback has been mainly negative, with some within the PR community accusing Dell of pursuing its own agenda rather than engaging in an open dialogue.

Menchaca responded on the blog: ‘Thanks for the feedback, guys. We'll keep working to get it right.'

A statement from Dell read: ‘Our blog has only been active for two days, so there hasn't been much time to make any observations on its impact. We're happy with the response we've received and will continue to work to make it a timely resource.'
