Part of Threepipe's brief will be to handle UK PR surrounding a forthcoming restructure of the company's European business.
Threepipe will also be responsible for managing comms around Tomy licensing deals, such as that for Bob the Builder with Hit Entertainment – which has recently been renewed.
One of the agency's first challenges on the consumer side will be the UK launch of three computer games this autumn for Tomy's videogame division.
The appointment of Threepipe means a split from Attenborough Saffron, which has represented the brand for five years. Attenborough Saffron director Merrigan Twelves said it declined the offer to repitch. ‘We felt both sides were ready for a fresh challenge,' she added.
Threepipe will run the account through its ‘Threepipe Junior' arm. The agency won the brief after a three-way pitch. It will report to Tomy European marketing director Sally Plumridge.
