ActivIdentity was formed last August from the merger of two security product developers: Australian business Protocom and French firm ActivCard.
The company designs software that allows organisations to issue employees and suppliers with a smartcard, giving them digital access to secure buildings and computer systems.
ActivIdentity, which has its headquarters in California, wants to build a UK profile by positioning itself as an expert on security matters.
‘This is a customer and issue-led campaign,' said Berkeley PR account director Jo Jamieson, who reports to ActivIdentity marketing and comms vice-president Phil Jacobs.
Berkeley, which has an initial contract for six months, will work ‘in tandem with' ActivIdentity's retained US agency, Silicon Valley-based McGrath/Power, with which Berkeley has previously worked.
