It is the first time the pub owner has engaged a PR adviser, and comes after a period of rapid expansion, which has seen the privately owned firm open around 1,200 pubs since launching two years ago. It is one of the largest ‘tenanted’ pub operators in the UK.
Citypress is briefed to raise the profile of Hertfordshire-based Admiral in trade and regional press in order to attract landlords – Admiral’s premises are run by licensees who operate the pubs as their own businesses.
‘A crucial element of the campaign will be dispelling any fears that potential landlords might have about Admiral running its business purely as a property investment,’ said Citypress MD Charles Tattersall. He added: ‘We need to get across the message that Admiral can offer its tenants support, and has people who are there to help and advise.’
The firm plans to buy more pub properties, and part of Citypress’s brief will be to give the operator
a voice in the City and financial media.
The agency will also be targeting pub trade press such as The Publican and The Morning Advertiser.
