Dairy Crest lures Lander to top job

Dairy Crest has snapped up Woolworths' former head of corporate affairs Nicole Lander to fill a newly created role of director of comms.

She joins the food company - behind brands such as St Ivel and Petits Filous - next week, reporting to CEO Drummond Hall.

Lander said her role would be to ‘deliver a sparkling comms plan' for the company. This is likely to include developing campaigns around individual brands and positioning the firm on the ongoing public health debate.

Dairy Crest is responsible for around 40 per cent of UK household milk deliveries. Its PR function is overseen currently by corporate affairs manager Sinead Noble.

Lander was made redundant from Woolworths 13 months ago after four and a half years at the retailer - in 2003 she was voted PRWeek's PR Professional of the Year. She previously spent seven years at Tesco, which last year ended its milk supply contract with Dairy Crest.

A FTSE-250 firm, Dairy Crest retains Brunswick for financial PR, with GCI, Haygarth and The Ceres Partnership on its roster of consumer agencies.
