Mayfield to make web search move

Spannerworks, a major firm in the search-engine marketing sector, has brought in Harvard PR director Antony Mayfield to develop services for the PR industry.

In the newly created role of head of content and media, ‘social media’ expert Mayfield plans to set up a new division, and will launch a blog/internet monitoring and evaluation tool this autumn.

‘“Search” is a major reputational issue. Search engines and PR will have a lot more to do with each other in the future,’ he said.

Mayfield, a former Midnight Communications MD, will report to CEO Arjo Ghosh when he joins.

Spannerworks’ clients include Virgin and Lloyds TSB.
