Fishburn Hedges has shaken up its management, with CEO Ron Finlay to step back to a director role and MD Simon Matthews poised to take over as CEO.
Matthews becomes CEO on 1 July, reporting to chairman Neil Hedges.
Finlay, with FH since 1991 and its CEO since 2003, said: ‘I want to spend more time doing what I love best and working on clients and business development.’
He added: ‘It can be liberating to give up reins of power and feel free to develop other interests at work that management responsibilities stop you from doing.’
Finlay works on clients including the Department of Health and UK Trade and Investment.
Before FH, Matthews worked with its founders at corporate comms agency Valin Pollen.
FH has not yet decided whether to replace Matthews in the MD role.
The agency is owned by Abbott Mead Vickers, the UK’s largest advertising agency, which is, in turn, owned by global communications group Omnicom.
