Cancer group in suncream stunt

The Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) is running a suncream 'amnesty' with Lloydspharmacy to encourage people to use suncream with a factor higher than 15.

The campaign, being promoted by Starfish Communications, is encouraging people to hand old sub-factor 15 bottles in at Lloydspharmacy branches. For each bottle handed in, the chain will donate £1 to the charity.

Starfish joint MD Julien Speed said the campaign, which runs until mid-July had a focus on parents.

‘A large proportion of skin damage is done in people’s formative years, and the present hot weather is a great time to be raising this issue,’ said Speed, who added that the fundraising target was £100,000.

Bottles of suncream can be handed in at any of the 1,522 branches of Lloydspharmacy.
