Letter - ...but calls for action should go further

We welcome the action taken by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards and agree with his recommendations for making the relationship between lobbyists, their clients and MPs more transparent.

However, the fact that the system is failing is damaging to the reputation of Parliament.

If MPs are to address the very real public concerns that exist about their behaviour, they need to provide all-party groups with dedicated support that is independent from private financial help.
