Charity funder to crank up profile

The Impetus Trust has made its first PR agency hire in a bid to boost its profile among donors and charities.

The ‘venture philanthropy group’ provides funding for mid-sized charities, but specialises in providing business support through a network of volunteers.

Four Communications has been brought on board to raise awareness of how it operates and to recruit more volunteers.

CEO Nan Williams said the agency would also provide PR support for Impetus’s five core charities: Speaking Up, St Giles Trust, The Eating Disorders Associations, Leap Confronting Conflict, and NAZ Project London. ‘That might be media relations, branding advice, help with strategies or media training,’ she said.

The agency is also actively encouraging its own staff to offer their services pro bono.
