APCO nets Riggins for research post

APCO has recruited Phil Riggins in a new role to lead its opinion research efforts across Europe.

Based in London, Riggins becomes director of APCO Insight and was previously senior managing director of KRC Research, an affiliate of Weber Shandwick.

APCO Insight president Mark Benson said Riggins’s ‘on-the-ground experience will add considerable depth’ to its work.

Riggins has more than 16 years’ experience of using opinion research to help clients develop comms tactics, particularly in dealing with complex public and foreign policy issues.

He recently completed a project for OPEC to determine how policy makers view the organisation.

At KRC, he has advised Intel, Epson and the US Department of State. Prior to KRC, he spent six years conducting surveys for the US Information Agency.

KRC is recruiting for his successor.
