Anderson has around 50 staff reporting to him, including press, public affairs and internal communications teams.
He joins from market research firm TNS, where he was strategy and development director.
Until last month, Places for People was made up of five separately named departments, such as New Leaf, which provided independent support for elderly residents in the UK.
Following the rebrand to Places for People, it is seeking to become a ‘one-stop shop’ for regeneration, with the group handling a diverse range of issues.
Anderson has also worked for HSBC, British Airways and Egg.
He reports to chief executive David Cowans.
