HBOS’s Ross plans move to law firm

Law firm McGrigors has poached HBOS government relations executive Alastair Ross to be its director of public policy.

He joins on 26 June and will provide advice on PA matters to the company’s clients, which range from PFI contractors to oil and gas corporations.

Ross will report to McGrigors head of risk advisory services Brandon Nolan, and will be supported by two other policy staff.

He replaces Adam Bruce, who quit in April to become UK chief executive of renewable energy group Airtricity.

Ross has held a range of PA roles since joining HBOS six years ago, and has been on secondment to the Scottish Parliament for the past 18 months.
