Having established the Liverpool 08 All-Party Group, LLM will now plan activity around the party conferences and bolster ties with the Arts Council and the government departments on which it depends for funding, including the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
LLM saw off Weber Shandwick and Bell Pottinger Public Affairs to clinch a 12-month public affairs contract commencing on 1 July, with an option to extend it for a further year. Fees are understood to be £100,000.
The organisation handed LLM and Weber Shandwick provisional PA and PR contracts respectively last summer.
Liverpool Culture Company comms director Paul Newman said it would not consider rehiring external PR support until next year, when the brief would be to attract overseas visitors to Liverpool.
l LLM partner Ben Abbotts has been selected to contest the Bromley & Chislehurst 29 June by-election for the Liberal Democrats. Taunton MP Jeremy Browne, previously of Edelman, is playing a leading role in Abbotts’ campaign.
