Agencies in talks for King Tut brief

US entertainment giant AEG and the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities are in late-stage agency talks for a UK Tutankhamun exhibition.

The ‘Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs’ exhibition, which travels to London in November next year, is expected to draw three million visitors on its world tour, which is currently in the US.

Howard Carter discovered the Egyptian king’s intact tomb in 1922.

A 1977 global tour attracted more than a million visitors.
