Weber Shandwick bags top European Sabre Award

BERLIN: Weber Shandwick's Brussels office scooped the pan-European campaign gong at last week's European Sabre Awards in Berlin.

The agency's launch of Goodyear's ‘RunOnFlat tyre' beat entries from all over Europe to clinch top gong at the second ‘Superior Achievement in Branding and Reputation' awards.

Brussels rival Interel won the crisis management award for work with European retailer FNAC. Porter Novelli won publicity stunt of the year for its work with British Airways.

Burson-Marsteller won the issues management award for its work with the Spanish brewing industry, and was also voted the best multinational agency to work for.

Weber Shandwick won the Iberian category, Pleon Kohtes Klewes came top in Germany, Beau Fixe was top in France, and Edelman won the Nordic prize.

The frenzy surrounding the launch of Sony's PSP console won Jackie Cooper PR the consumer tech prize. Fellow UK outfit The Red Consultancy won the public-sector award for the Home Office's Clean Up Week.
