CORPORATE Barclays Capital has appointed Siobhan Loftus as a director and head of corporate comms. She will be responsible for global PR, internal comms, advertising and brand. She joins from a role as director of marketing at Apax Partners and replaces John Anderson who left last year.

CONSUMER Blistex has brought in Brave PR to transform perception of the lip-balm brand from medicated product to trendy beauty essential. Five-year incumbent Attenborough Associates (now Attenborough Saffron), lost out in a repitch.

CORPORATE has recruited Microsoft UK corporate press officer Demelza Fryer-Saxby for a newly created role - also titled corporate press officer - that reports to head of press John Salmon.

AGENCY Finance and tech agency Cognito has hired Lena Ahad to the new role of head of press and analyst relations for UK and North America. She joins from Chameleon PR after a year as a strategic consultant. Ahad also spent ten years at Brodeur Worldwide, leaving in 2004.

CORPORATE ING Car Lease is to use Prova PR to handle a trade comms campaign. The UK arm of the firm owns just under 20,000 vehicles, and is keen to target ‘medium to PLC-sized firms with fleets needs' via a B2B media relations push.

AGENCY Fleishman-Hillard associate director Amber O'Connor is leaving its consumer team at the end of the month. Consumer director Louisa Jenkins said the agency was recruiting for a replacement.

CORPORATE Business finance administrator Ultimate Finance has replaced one-year incumbent MC2 with JBP PR to target SMEs. The brief is to target lawyers, accountants, brokers and insolvency practitioners. It will also raise the profile of a recently opened Leeds office.
