Orange in youth broadband drive

Weber Shandwick's youth division Slam is promoting a gig by Charlotte Church next Wednesday for the launch of Orange Broadband.

The newly merged Orange and Wanadoo is using Slam to promote the new brand - and the fact that Orange plans to offer ‘free' broadband to customers who also take a mobile phone contract - around the 7 June gig. The firm faces a battle for broadband customers with the likes of Talk Talk.

Slam, which reports to Orange head of PR Nadia Kelly (formerly of Wanadoo), has relaunched with new arrival Molly Hooper at the helm (PRWeek, 26 May). Hooper worked with Wanadoo at PiranhaKid two years ago.

Golin Harris, Weber Shandwick's sister agency within the Interpublic Group, is Orange's retained consumer agency.
