PA chief Horsman departs Provident

Provident Financial head of public affairs Jonathan Horsman has quit the loans firm after seven years. Horsman joins agency Project Associates next week as a senior associate and one of five full-time consultants.

Provident is ‘actively recruiting’ to replace him. He formerly held posts at the Independent Schools Council and at Consolidated Communications.

Project Associates advised the Montenegrin prime minister on last week’s independence referendum, when citizens voted for independence from Serbia. Agency founder David Rigg said: ‘We have recently advised heads of state and of government, but it was the first time I had witnessed the birth of an independent nation.’

The firm also employs media heavyweights for ad hoc comms advice. They include ex-Sun editor Stuart Higgins and former Mirror Group political editor David Seymour, who joined last month (PRWeek, 19 May).
