Skin cancer drive aims for students

Killing Cancer will next week warn sixth-formers of the danger of skin cancer.

Charity founder David Longman said the group wanted to highlight the effects of over-exposure to sunlight, and raise awareness of ‘photodynamic therapy’ cancer treatment.

The type of phototherapy uses light to induce beneficial reactions in patients.

Longman has recruited girl band Clea to visit schools as part of an educational roadshow. He also plans summer promotions at resorts and music festivals.

Broadcaster Chris Tarrant and former Page 3 model Linda Lusardi are set to take part in activity aimed at
consumer press.

Longman is a former marketing director at McCann-Erickson.
