EML in Cambridge area business bid

Kingston-upon-Thames tech agency EML has hired a consultant to target companies in the ‘Silicon Fen’ area in and around Cambridge.

Chris Ellis, a Cambridge-based freelance tech marcoms specialist, is charged with forging relationships in the area. The business drive will target electronics firms in particular.

Ellis, who has worked with tech agencies in Cambridge since 1989, is tasked with identifying new business and liaising with EML's existing clients, which include £2bn FTSE 200 company Cambridge Silicon Radio. He reports to MD Richard Parker.

'Cambridge is a hotbed. There is great potential for growing business in Silicon Fen,' said EML director David Marsden, who added that Ellis will target start-ups as well as established firms.

Other clients of the 15-strong agency include Verimatrix, which supplies content security for the internet protocol TV sector; Californian group National Semiconductor; national telecoms and IP telephony provider Uniworld; and antenna supplier Antenova.
