Hit or Miss... Bush self-parody amuses US media
President Bush's stock with his public may be low, but a comedy routine last Saturday has earned him respite from the White House press pack. At the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, Dubya sent himself up with Steve Bridges, who regularly lampoons Bush on US TV. The Times' man in Washington called the mirth-making about Bush's often-mangled syntax a 'genuinely funny self-parody', while the Daily Express said '2,500 reporters were doubled up with laughter'.
