I discovered Delfina two or three years back when looking for a venue for a major client event for 250 guests. It impressed from the outset, with staff whose attention to detail was matched by a cheerful willingness to help no matter how problematic the request.
Housed in a renovated factory near London Bridge, the Delfina Studio Trust was established in 1988 as a registered charity. It has 30 studios, which aim to provide high-quality space and related facilities to visual artists. But it is the stylish and inviting restaurant that is justifiably attracting attention, and which makes an unusual and pleasing venue for a client lunch.
Despite the large white space, the ambience is warm, with tables nicely distanced. It is quiet and relaxed, staff are attentive without being intrusive, and it is ideal for entertaining both new clients and established contacts.
Chef Maria Elia - who is rapidly making a name for herself - changes her menu fortnightly. Using market-fresh ingredients, imaginatively cooked and beautifully presented fish and seafood feature heavily, but there are also tempting selections for the carnivore and vegetarian. Elia's desire to defy categorisation results in a menu that excites and inspires.
Fine food in a charming setting benefiting a worthy cause. Is there any better way to impress?
