Gunmaker moves to extend brand

Exclusive gunmaker James Purdey & Sons has called in Brian MacLaurin Associates to raise the brand’s profile among sporting and non-sporting audiences.

Although the company – which was founded in 1814 – is well known in the shooting world, general brand awareness is low, said agency MD Brian MacLaurin.

The campaign will include promoting James Purdey & Sons' efforts in conservation, and seeking coverage for its clothing line, ahead of the launch of a website from which its clothes will be sold.

The agency was appointed after a three-way pitch, and replaces Aurelia – now APR.
