St Helens' lollipops get cross

Merseyside’s St Helens Council is asking ‘impatient’ and ‘reckless’ motorists to slow down to help protect its lollipop-people.

The local press and broadcast campaign follows complaints from an undisclosed number of the authority's 50 school crossing patrol staff.

They said motorists were threatening their safety, and that of children and parents.
