CRUK prepares services drive

Cancer Research UK (CRUK) is to bolster its PA team as it urges the Government to lay the groundwork for an updated ten-year ‘cancer plan’.

The charity is anxious that the existing plan for 2000 to 2010 – which sets out targets for smoking cessation, access to treatment and the response to staffing issues in the care of patients – is not a one-off.

It is recruiting for a head of external relations and campaigning, and a head of policy development, said Richard Davidson, director of public affairs. He added that the campaign, around delivery of 'cancer services', would start in June.
