College of Law in degree campaign

The College of Law has drafted in Weber Shandwick as it prepares to become the first non-public body in the UK to be accorded the power to award degrees.

The Privy Council is expected to grant the college permission in early May.

WS chairman of PA Jon McLeod is leading the account, reporting to College of Law chief executive Nigel Savage, who said the appointment followed a 'mini-beauty parade' of agencies.

Savage said WS would provide 'high-level strategic advice' in 'getting the message out to students and prospective students'.

WS is working alongside educational PR company Tim Devlin Enterprises on the brief.

The college has more than 8,000 students enrolled.
