Letter: Remember a Charity serves legacies well

Having read PRWeek's coverage of the Institute of Fundraising's legacy awareness drive, I was disappointed to see that there was no mention of the 140-strong charity consortium Remember A Charity that is responsible for the campaign ('Use your will, says fundraising body,' 31 March).

Although this consortium is hosted by the institute, it is the collaboration of those charities and their combined resources that make up the campaign.

Raising over £1.3bn each year, legacies are the largest single source of voluntary income to UK charities. And yet, just one in seven wills currently include a charitable donation. Remember A Charity is working to raise awareness and, ultimately, cash for good causes through this vital donation mechanism.
